Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia remains focused and undeterred in his commitment to serving the people despite political attacks and security challenges facing the state, his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, has said.
In a statement titled “A New Working Week: Governor Alia’s Unwavering, Unshaken, Faithfulness to the Masses of Benue” issued on Monday, Kula addressed what he described as “unsettling narratives” amplified by those whose interest lies in disruption rather than the welfare of the people.
“Governor Hyacinth Alia remains undeterred, focused, and deeply committed to the service of our state,” Kula said.
Alia took office with a clear pledge to put the people of Benue first. His administration has resuscitated abandoned schools and industries, supported farmers, improved healthcare and invested in critical infrastructure, according to the statement.
“That shift away from entrenched interests and toward the everyday concerns of ordinary citizens, we are aware, has won attention and, for some, provoked resistance,” Kula said.
On security, Kula noted that the challenges facing the state were serious but not peculiar to Benue, reflecting broader national trends that required coordinated action.
“Governor Alia understands this. He is working day and night with the central government, security agencies, community leaders, and our neighbours to strengthen responses, protect lives, and restore normalcy where it has been disrupted,” he said.

Kula said the governor was “not overwhelmed,” adding that he was “engaged, present, and making the hard decisions necessary for long-term stability.”
“He is not afraid. He has stood with you, the masses, the many; not the few, and that choice is necessitated by the belief; belief in the courage, dignity, and resilience of the Benue people.”
The statement urged citizens to remain calm and vigilant, support legitimate security efforts and report credible information to authorities.
“Your Governor knows that leadership is proven in action, not in rhetoric. He consistently draws strength from the everyday stories of our people; a farmer who can now access markets, a mother with improved access to healthcare, and a young person given the chance to learn and work. Those are the measures of success that matter to him, and he will continue to pursue them relentlessly,” Kula said.
He warned those attempting to undermine progress through fear and falsehood that their tactics would not succeed.
“Benue’s destiny is not for sale and will not be decided by smear campaigns. The people have seen the strides and will judge leaders by results, by safety, by jobs, by dignity,” he said.
