United States (US) envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are due to arrive in Kyiv on Sunday for their first visit to Ukraine’s capital.
The visit follows three-hour talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Saturday to discuss ending the Ukraine war.
The White House said the envoys discussed “substantive plans for next steps” with Putin and are hoping for “equally productive meetings” in Kyiv.
The trip will mark the first visit to Ukraine by President Donald Trump’s top negotiators since taking up their roles.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he is ready for “a substantive conversation” with the US envoys.
Putin and Zelensky have also agreed to halt strikes on each other’s capitals for three days.
Putin adviser Yuri Ushakov described the Moscow talks as “constructive, extremely frank.”
The White House has not disclosed the details of the proposed next steps, but an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
The talks come after months of intensified Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv.
