Despite firing 18 aces and 46 winners, Noskova stumbled in the eighth game of the final set, allowing Sabalenka to break back to love and level the match at 4-4.
Sabalenka will now face the winner of the quarter-final match between Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro for a spot in the final.
In the men’s draw, 11th seed Frances Tiafoe produced a stunning comeback on the same court, recovering from two sets down and a 3-0 fifth-set deficit to defeat Alex Michelsen 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (10/6).
Tiafoe’s marathon victory after four hours and 38 minutes sends him to his third US Open semifinal in five years, where he awaits the winner between Carlos Alcaraz and Ben Shelton.
