Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, was captured on video feeding President Bola Tinubu what looked like a piece of candy during the official flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign in Kaduna State on Saturday, although the exact item remains unconfirmed.

The light-hearted moment took place at Kaduna Township Stadium as the ruling party launched its drive for Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general elections.

Video footage shared by News Central TV showed the First Lady offering the candy to the president amid the proceedings.

Tinubu, accompanied by the First Lady, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and senior APC leaders, arrived in the state earlier in the day for the rally.

Large crowds of party supporters filled the venue as the APC formally began its nationwide campaign, the first major presidential outing since electioneering commenced.

The president addressed the gathering on the administration’s achievements and future plans under the Renewed Hope agenda.

In his remarks, he rejected opposition criticisms on hunger and poverty, insisting previous governments had created those challenges while his team was working to resolve them, and pledged prosperity in a second term.

Governor Uba Sani used the occasion to assure Tinubu of strong backing from the North, outlining federal projects in the region and stating that northern voters would repay the president with their support at the polls.
