Governor of Oyo State Seyi Makinde has predicted that the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) will win the 2027 general election overwhelmingly, expressing confidence in the party’s proposed national reset agenda.

Makinde made the prediction on Thursday in Akure, Ondo State, during the programme themed “Reset Nigeria: Makinde Takes APM Presidential Candidate to Ondo State.” He described the APM’s agenda as a reset plan for Nigeria and said he expected the party to win overwhelmingly.

Makinde also expressed confidence that his national leader would become the next Senate President of the FCT.

He urged Nigerians to support the vision, adding that the party was working to make its a reality. Makinde also challenged presidential candidates to demonstrate the energy needed to lead the country, saying physical stamina and the ability to handle demanding schedules were important qualities for the office.

“While I will not make age an issue of this campaign, I will make energy,” he said.

He added that Nigeria needed a leader who could stay up late, withstand the demands of the office and address the country’s challenges.

“So please, when they bring their own presidential candidates, let the candidates come here and also jump down. If they can do that, vote for them,” Makinde said.

The APM candidate also praised the South-West for its role in the country’s political development. He said the region had consistently supported efforts to build a better Nigeria.
