United States (US) President Donald Trump has voted early in Florida before the November 3 midterm elections, as his Republican Party fights to retain control of Congress.
Trump and his wife, Melania, cast their ballots on Saturday before he travelled to Georgia for a campaign rally. He said he voted exclusively for Republican candidates.
After voting, reporters asked Trump about corruption as a major voter concern. He blamed Democratic-led districts and cities.

“You ought to look at the real corruption — it’s Democrat corruption,” he said.

Trump also repeated his claims about the 2020 presidential election, which he lost but has consistently refused to accept. He has repeatedly alleged widespread voter fraud without providing evidence to support the claims.
“I ran and I won in 2016, and I won in 2020, too, but it didn’t work out that way,” Trump said at the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections office in West Palm Beach.
“It was a rigged election, but I won by millions of votes,” he added.
With 10 days remaining before the midterm elections, polls suggest Republicans could lose control of the House of Representatives and possibly the Senate. Midterm elections have traditionally favoured the party outside the White House.
Losing the Republican majority in Congress would make it harder for Trump to advance his legislative agenda during the final two years of his presidency.
It could also expose the president and his staff to congressional investigations if Democrats gain control. Democratic lawmakers have said they want to examine business dealings involving Trump and people close to him through the family’s holding company since his return to the White House.
