Lagos State has urged consumers to report online vendors who deliver goods different from what was ordered, as authorities move to curb unfair business practices in the e-commerce sector.
In a consumer awareness message on Monday, the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) said buyers should not remain silent when they receive items that fail to match their descriptions or expected quality.
“Goods or products you order online should be delivered as promised,” the agency said on X.

“If the items delivered do not match their descriptions, are different from what you ordered, or fail to meet the expected quality, do not keep silent!”
The agency encouraged affected consumers to formally lodge complaints, saying, “Speak up and take action.”
It provided a toll-free helpline, 080 0005 2726, and an email address, [email protected], for reporting grievances.
LASCOPA reaffirmed its commitment to protecting buyers’ rights, stating, “In Lagos State, consumers are kings.”
