Tenerife striker Jesus de Miguel has died from injuries he suffered after colliding with FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Owono during a Spanish second-division match.
The club confirmed his death in a statement on Tuesday.
“We announce the tragic passing, this Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 8:00 am, of Jesus de Miguel Alameda,” Tenerife said.
The club also expressed sympathy to his family, friends and supporters.
“No words can ease the pain, nothing can lessen this great feeling of sadness. Our thoughts are with the family, his close friends and Tenerife fans, who today are grieving over this terrible news,” the statement added.

De Miguel was involved in the incident late in the match. FC Andorra goalkeeper and Equatorial Guinea international Jesus Owono had rushed out of his goal before making contact with the striker. The match was abandoned following the incident.
Spanish media reported that De Miguel suffered a cardiac arrest while being taken to hospital in an ambulance. Medical workers reportedly resuscitated him, but he later died. His death has left Tenerife mourning the loss of the 30-year-old forward.
Heartbroken and unable to believe it is true, we announce the tragic passing of Jesús de Miguel Alamada on Tuesday 3 November 2026 at 8.00 am.
There are no words of comfort. We stand with his devastated family, loved ones and the whole CD Tenerife community.
