I Made N10 Million Monthly Selling Akara

Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has said his akara and bread business generated no less than N10 million monthly, recounting how he built a thriving enterprise from humble beginnings.

Eno made the revelation while speaking to a gathering of Nigerian youths, urging them to explore legitimate business opportunities.

“We still have that shop there, and I started selling akara and bread. We were doing bread and akara burger. We opened the bread and put akara in it for you,” the governor said.

He said the business targeted workers heading to ExxonMobil in the morning, who would buy akara and bread, along with coffee, from a shop he also started.

“People going to work at ExxonMobil would buy it in the morning and take coffee. We started a coffee shop, and then they would take it every morning,” Eno said.

Eno said the venture became a significant source of income, generating at least N10 million monthly.

“That akara business and that bread used to give me not less than ten million naira, not less than that,” he said.
