The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Peter Sinamai, for allegedly killing his father and dumping his corpse in an abandoned well in Sangere, Gombi Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.

Nguroje said the suspect was arrested after police operatives received a report concerning the incident.

He said preliminary investigations revealed that Sinamai allegedly killed his father and disposed of his body in a well within the community.

“The state Commissioner of Police, Kabiru Hassan, has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Nguroje stated.

The police spokesperson said the victim’s remains had been recovered and deposited at a mortuary for autopsy.

He added that the suspect would be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation.

The command condemned the alleged act and assured residents of its commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring that justice was served.

Nguroje also urged members of the public to resolve family disputes through lawful and peaceful means and seek appropriate intervention whenever conflicts arise.
