Nigerian afro-house singer Niniola Apata has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika.
The Grammy-nominated artiste disclosed this in a series of emotional posts shared on her Instagram story in the early hours of Wednesday.
In the posts, Niniola mourned her husband, writing that God had taken him after 13 years together.

“God took him,” she wrote in the first post.
“My husband died,” she added in a second.

In a third, she wrote: “God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years.”

Ndika was the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on afro-house and contemporary African music.
The cause and circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately disclosed.
Niniola rose to fame after finishing as one of the top contestants on Project Fame West Africa in 2013 and has since gained international recognition in the music industry.
Her 2017 hit song Maradona brought her wider acclaim and drew attention from global artistes including DJ Snake, Drake, Timbaland and Beyonce.
