Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a three-day suspension of strikes on Kyiv starting Saturday at midnight, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
The directive halts military bombardment on the Ukrainian capital as US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff travel from Moscow to Kyiv for high-level diplomatic talks.
The pause comes amid intense international efforts to negotiate an end to the multi-year war following Donald Trump’s return to the presidency.
Throughout the ongoing conflict, Russian forces have regularly targeted Ukrainian infrastructure and political centres with missile and drone strikes.

This temporary halt aims to facilitate safe transit and diplomatic negotiations for the American delegation in the capital.
