Rosemary Egabor-Afolahan, Director of Commercial and Communications at News Central TV, has been named among the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications at the 2026 Women in Marketing Communications Conference and Awards (WIMCA).
The recognition, announced at the 12th edition of WIMCA which held at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, celebrates female professionals who have significantly shaped Nigeria’s marketing and communications industry.
Egabor-Afolahan, who has over two decades of experience spanning banking and finance, oil and gas, and broadcast media, was honoured for her exceptional leadership, innovative strategies, and commitment to impactful storytelling.
At News Central TV, she spearheaded a rebranding campaign that resulted in a 60 percent increase in viewership within 18 months after the channel expanded its digital platforms.

She also initiated key partnerships with regional organisations that enhanced content diversity and community engagement.
Speaking at the conference, Egabor-Afolahan also urged media agencies and advertisers to think beyond audience reach and focus on trust.

“Visibility gets you noticed, relevance gets you remembered, but trust gets you chosen. This is the value we believe brings to the market,” she said.
She added that brands must consider what audiences watch, listen to, believe and who they trust.
Rosemary Egabor-Afolahan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Covenant University, Ota and a Master of Science degree in Media and Communications from Pan Atlantic University, Lagos. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), both in the United Kingdom.
