The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested seven suspects following separate killings linked to a violent clash in Dass Local Government Area of the state.
The incidents occurred on Friday, September 4, 2026, after a 29-year-old tricycle rider from the Bundot area was allegedly attacked at Tudun Wus.
According to the police, the victim was attacked with cutlasses by a group of people during an alleged criminal conspiracy. He was rushed to General Hospital, Dass, where he was pronounced dead.
The incident triggered tension in the community, with youths from Bundot reportedly mobilising and heading to Bayan Fada for a reprisal attack.
The police said the two groups later clashed at an open space near the Dass Central Motor Park, where a 38-year-old man from Bayan Fada was stabbed.

He was taken to General Hospital, Dass, before being referred to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where he was also pronounced dead.
Following the violence, police detectives moved in to restore calm and arrested seven suspects.
They were identified as Umar Abubakar, 20, of Bayan Fada; Blus Garba, 19; Adamu Muhammad, 17; Hussaini Danjuma, 17; Hassan Danjuma, 17; Shuaibu Sani, 17; and Aliyu Abdullahi, 18, all of Bundot.
The police said efforts were ongoing to arrest other suspects believed to be involved in the incidents.
The state Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the killings and ordered a discreet and thorough investigation.
He also urged residents of Dass to remain calm, obey the law and avoid taking the law into their own hands, assuring them that justice would be served.
