The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted its temporary travel ban on Lebanon, allowing Emirati citizens to resume travel to the country from Monday after weeks of restrictions linked to the Middle East conflict.
According to the UAE’s Foreign Ministry, on Monday, citizens travelling to Lebanon are required to register through the country’s consular services platform before departure.
The UAE suspended travel to Lebanon, as well as Iran and Iraq, in April over regional security concerns arising from the Middle East war and fears surrounding Iran’s influence.
The conflict, which ended with a ceasefire in April, saw Gulf countries affected by Iran’s retaliatory aerial attacks following United States and Israeli strikes on Iran that began on February 28.
Meanwhile, flights between Tehran and Dubai resumed on Monday for the first time since the conflict, according to Iranian state media. However, the UAE has not lifted its travel ban on citizens visiting Iran.
