Brighton’s Pervis Estupiñán Joins AC Milan

Ecuadorian defender Pervis Estupiñán has completed a move to AC Milan from Brighton & Hove Albion, signing a five-year contract with the Italian giants, the club announced on Thursday.

The 27-year-old left-back makes the switch as Milan look to rebuild after a disappointing domestic campaign that saw them record their worst Serie A finish in ten years, missing out on European competition.

His arrival follows a busy summer for the Rossoneri, who earlier brought back former boss Massimiliano Allegri and secured the signing of veteran Croatian midfielder Luka Modrić from Real Madrid.

Estupiñán joined Brighton from Spanish side Villarreal in 2022 and went on to make 104 appearances for the Premier League club.

Reflecting on the transfer, Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler praised the defender’s contributions: “I’ve enjoyed working with Pervis, and he’s made a big impact during his time with us. At this point in his career, he’s seeking a new challenge, and this move to Serie A offers just that. We thank him for everything and wish him the very best going forward.”
