Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has expressed interest in playing in Spain’s La Liga in the future but says he remains happy at the Premier League champions.
The Spain international discussed the possibility of returning to his home country during an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca on Wednesday, describing the league as highly competitive.
Raya, 31, said he would welcome the opportunity to play for a Spanish club at some point in his career, although his immediate focus remains on Arsenal.

His current contract with the Gunners runs until June 2028.
“Yes, I would love to. I would love to try out LaLiga,” Raya told Marca.
“For now, I’m very happy here [at Arsenal], but I would certainly like to experience the Spanish league. I think it’s a very competitive league. Perhaps, in the future, I could play for a Spanish club. I’m Spanish, and I’d love to play there, that’s for sure,” he said.
Born in Barcelona, Raya moved to England as a teenager and has spent his professional career there. He joined Arsenal from Brentford on loan in 2023 before completing a permanent transfer.
He has become a key figure for Arsenal, winning the Premier League Golden Glove award for a third consecutive season and helping the club make deep runs in the Champions League and domestic cup competitions.

Raya was also included in Spain’s squad for the World Cup-winning campaign this summer, although he did not play during the tournament.
Assessing his performances over the past season, the goalkeeper described it as the best of his career so far. He said he had continued to improve since joining Arsenal and hoped to maintain that progress, although he regretted not featuring at the World Cup.

“I believe I’ve had a perfect year. Perhaps the only thing missing was playing in the World Cup. Every year since I arrived at Arsenal, I’ve continued to improve and hopefully that will keep happening,” he said.
Looking ahead, Raya said his ambition was to win every available trophy with Arsenal. He added that the club wanted to establish itself as a leading contender and hoped to go further in the Champions League this season.
“My goal is to win everything. We want to establish ourselves as favourites. Hopefully we can go one better this year by lifting the Champions League, but there is still a long way to go.”
