Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet United States President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday, according to a statement from the Israeli leader’s office.
The visit comes as tensions between the two leaders over the handling of the conflict with Iran heighten.
Netanyahu is expected to leave for Washington on Monday. During the trip, he will also attend the funeral service of Senator Lindsey Graham, whom his office described as a close friend of Israel.
Tuesday’s meeting will mark the seventh encounter between Trump and Netanyahu since the US president returned to office last year.
The two leaders have long maintained close ties, with Netanyahu previously describing Trump as Israel’s greatest friend in the White House.
However, relations have become strained in recent months, particularly over negotiations involving Iran, with Trump publicly expressing frustration over the issue in a series of strongly worded remarks earlier this year.
