Galatasaray have confirmed that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and midfielder Mario Lemina are receiving treatment after suffering right adductor muscle injuries.
The Turkish champions disclosed this on Sunday following MRI and advanced examinations conducted at sponsor Acıbadem Hospital.
The club said Osimhen suffered an advanced-moderate strain involving bleeding and stretching in his right adductor, commonly known as the groin muscle group.
“Following the completion of MR and advanced examinations at our sponsor Acıbadem Hospital, advanced-moderate level strain (bleeding and strain) has been detected in the right adductor muscle group of our footballer Victor Osimhen,” the club said in a statement.
Galatasaray said Lemina sustained a similar injury after undergoing medical examinations.
“Similarly, advanced-moderate level strain (bleeding and strain) has been detected in the right adductor muscle group of our player Mario Lemina, whose examinations have also been completed,” the club added.
Both players have commenced treatment, with Galatasaray confirming that their recovery programmes are ongoing.
However, the club did not disclose how long Osimhen or Lemina are expected to remain sidelined or provide a specific timeline for their return to competitive football.
The injuries are a setback for Galatasaray, with both players regarded as important members of the squad and expected to play significant roles during the season.
Osimhen has been a key attacking figure for the Turkish club, while Lemina provides experience and strength in midfield.
The extent of their respective injuries means Galatasaray will now monitor their recovery closely before determining when they can return to full training and competitive action.
