Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen dropped to fifth place on Transfermarkt’s list of Africa’s most valuable footballers with a current market valuation of €75 million.

The 2024 African Player of the Year now trails Ivory Coast’s Yan Diomande (€90m), PSG’s Achraf Hakimi (€80m), Manchester City’s Antoine Semenyo (€80m), and Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi (€80m), while sharing fifth place with Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo.

Despite this drop in global financial rankings, Osimhen maintains a red-hot start to Galatasaray’s 2026/27 season, recording four goals and an assist in his first two matches.

Globally, Transfermarkt ranks Osimhen as the 20th most valuable forward overall and the eighth most valuable pure centre-forward, trailing leaders Erling Haaland (€220m) and Kylian Mbappe (€200m).

However, the 27-year-old still holds the crown as both the most valuable Nigerian footballer and the top-valued player in the Turkish Super Lig.

Premier League giant Arsenal and Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal continue to monitor the prolific striker, who has netted 63 goals in 76 appearances for Galatasaray since moving from Napoli.

Osimhen’s market presence also shines in historical transfer records, where he features twice among the top 10 most expensive African players in history.

His transfers include his $91 million move to Napoli in 2023 and his $87 million permanent deal with Galatasaray.

Winger Ademola Lookman, valued at €35 million following his move to Atletico Madrid, joins Osimhen as Nigeria’s top financial export on the continental stage.
