Barcelona have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign 2024 Ballon d’Or winner Rodri for about €75 million ($87 million).
A source at the Catalan club had disclosed this to AFP on Sunday.
Rodri is expected to move to Camp Nou in the coming days, with the Barcelona source saying an official announcement will follow.
The 30-year-old had attracted interest from Real Madrid after helping Spain win the World Cup in July, but Barcelona pushed ahead with their bid for the midfielder.
The Spanish champions had two offers rejected before reaching an agreement with City.
Rodri joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid in 2019 and became a key player under manager Pep Guardiola.

He helped the club win the 2023 Champions League and four Premier League titles among 12 major trophies.
The Spanish midfielder has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons but returned to form during Spain’s World Cup-winning campaign.
Barcelona’s decision to move for Rodri has also been influenced by an injury to Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who is expected to miss several months.
The move would make Rodri the latest major addition to Barcelona’s squad this summer, following Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi and Jesse Bisiwu.
Barcelona are also expected to complete a deal for Joao Cancelo in the coming days after the Portuguese defender spent last season on loan at the club from Al Hilal.
