Manchester United have completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos, securing the 22-year-old on a contract running until June 2031, with the option for an additional year.
Santos, who has captained Brazil at the Under-23 level, arrives at Old Trafford following an impressive stint in European football and will now be part of a squad competing for top honours in England and Europe.
Last season, Santos featured 43 times for Chelsea, leading all Premier League midfielders under 22 in pass-completion rate and progressive passes per 90 minutes. Prior to that, he spent a season on loan at Strasbourg, where he captained the team on multiple occasions, netted 11 goals, and registered five assists. His performances have marked him as one of the brightest young midfield talents in world football.

“Everything about Manchester United is special; it is an incredible feeling to join a club that some of my biggest idols have represented. As a midfielder, I am really excited to have the opportunity to learn from Michael Carrick; he is the perfect coach to help me take the next step in my career and push to achieve my dreams.” Santos said, expressing his excitement at joining the Red Devils.
Jason Wilcox, Manchester United’s director of football, praised the signing: “Andrey is an outstanding midfielder with excellent technical qualities and the ability to impact the game at both ends of the pitch. He was a key target for us in an important position, so we are delighted that he will join Michael’s squad so early in pre-season.”
Santos’ arrival signals United’s intent to strengthen their midfield options with young, technically gifted players capable of influencing games at the highest level.
