Manchester City has completed the signing of Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi from French club Lille on a five-year deal.
The 18-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at the Etihad until 2031.
Bouaddi joins City after emerging as one of Europe’s most promising young midfielders.
He became Lille’s youngest senior player when he made his first-team debut days after turning 16 in 2023.
The midfielder went on to make 96 appearances for the French club.
Bouaddi also impressed for Morocco at the 2026 World Cup, starting five of the Atlas Lions’ six matches before their quarter-final exit.
City said Bouaddi had already signed his contract and would now look to win over the club’s supporters.
The club added: “Bouaddi has already achieved so much in his fledgling career and he’s still only 18.”
His arrival comes during a major midfield rebuild at City following the departures of Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Tijjani Reijnders.
Bouaddi joins England midfielder Elliot Anderson among City’s key midfield additions this summer, while the club continues to assess other options.
The Moroccan teenager will now continue his development at the Etihad under manager Enzo Maresca.
